State Champs on the Maximum Fun Tour at Ruoff Music Center

September 20, 2025 by Josh Custer in Show Review, Concert

State Champs took the stage and immediately reminded everyone why they’ve become such a staple in modern pop punk. From the first song the energy was undeniable, with fast riffs and huge choruses that had fans shouting along. Even though they weren’t headlining, there was no sense of holding back. The band played with a confidence and polish that made the set feel like an event all its own.

Their stage presence was nonstop, with each member moving across the stage and feeding off the crowd’s energy. You could feel the room shift as hands shot into the air, voices carried over each chorus, and a wave of crowd surfers kept security on their toes. It wasn’t just performance for performance’s sake, it was pure joy spilling out from the stage. They played like a band that loves what they do, and the fans responded with the same enthusiasm. What stands out about State Champs is that they always treat every show like it matters. Whether they’re headlining or on a support slot, they deliver the same level of passion and fun. Their set on the Maximum Fun Tour was proof of that, turning the middle of the night into one of the highlights of the entire show. By the end, the crowd was grinning, sweaty, and shouting for more. State Champs didn’t just fill their time, they left a mark.
